Appointing Griffin again, and declaring that I will never appoint a GM unless Griffin be confirmed by the Senate, is blackmail.

Appointing Griffin again, because there are no suitably capable, willing, and active candidates for the position otherwise, is not blackmail.

Though I get that the whole persecution narrative is a really good one, it's not a joke that we are where we are. People said we didn't have to choose between Griffin and no GM in the initial confirmation hearing, because some seemed to just assume GM candidates grew on trees, but it became readily apparently very quickly after the first confirmation hearing that that was indeed the situation.

Feel however you want about how we got here, but don't accuse me of blackmail for refusing to appoint some sort of third-tier GM after exhausting a dozen other options. I promise you that I tried finding someone, and several people here, off-site, and even on the RPP private board, can attest to this. I've been running around all over the place as if my hair was on fire trying to find someone before Nix and I came together on this.

A majority of this Senate supports Griffin being GM, a majority of the public supports Griffin being GM, and ever major Senate candidate for the special election also supports Griffin being GM. This issue has now been resolved and the public at large has moved on. I sincerely hope you won't hold whatever grudge you have against this process, against Griffin's GM work once he gets started.
