Romney is the only Republican (in the running) that I would consider voting for, and only in a worst case scenario for Obama. The reason is that I believe he is very intelligent and MAY have the ideas to fix the economy. But the jackass Republicans nominated McCain. I don't think Romney would have picked Palin.

I agree. And no, he wouldn't have picked Palin, he's surely have to pick a southerner. I'd also consider supporting Crist if Obama was doing badly.

UT lean republican??? HAHA funny.

Not really, with Huckabee on the ticket. If Jindal, whom I like, chose Huckabee, I would vote 3rd party. If there isn't a good 3rd party candidate, I'll reluctantly vote for Jindal, ignoring the Vice President.

Mormon's dispise Huckabee, and rightfully so. Most will probably stay home.  Without Mormons, Utah would be a close state.

No it wouldn't, that is about as dumb as people saying Mitt Romney would win MI because his father was the governor of MI a long time ago.

Or, Romney winning his home state of MA just because he governed MA himself.

It would actually be pretty interesting to see how the favourite son effect would affect Romney (or even Guiliani), since it's pretty obvious he wouldn't carry MA.
