While I was looking at the Southeastern Voting Booth tonight, I got the thought that the Northeast should move into the same system as other regions. I talked to Governor Earl Washburn, and he said he would support such a bill. Here are some rules pertaining to the system for citizens of the Northeast to review:

- Any citizen can propose an initiative to be put on the ballot
- An initiative must have 3 signatures to be placed on the ballot
- The Governor may place an initiative on the ballot without any signatures
- Voting will be held on the 3 weekend of every month
- Will bring more Northeastern region to be more active, and let our citizens be involved in day to day operations of the region
- I have enlisted the help of SE Governor TCash101 to serve as an advisor why we transition to the ballot initiative system
- I ask that the Governor put this amendment up for a vote on this friday.

To tell you the truth the Northeast Constitution is a real piece of sh**t, which you all know. Governor Washburn has informed me that he has begun to work on a new one. I would like to introduce the following Constitutional Amendment to move the Northeast to this type of system:

This following text is hereby added as Article IV, Sections I and II to the Northeast Constitution:

§ I. The Citizens of the Northeastern Region shall have the right to petition their government to gain access to the ballot for any issue. Such a petition shall have at least three signatures of registered Northeastern voters in order to be added to the ballot at the next Initiative election. Initiative elections should be held on the third weekend of each month beginning within 12 hours after midnight Eastern Standard Time on Friday morning and ending at 11:59pm Eastern Standard Time on the following Sunday night. Initiatives that receive a tie vote shall be considered failed, however the proposer of the initiative reserves the right to reintroduce it. Every initiative shall relate to but one subject, and that shall be expressed in the title.

§ II. The Citizens of the Northeastern Region may recall any regional official. A recall petition must have the signatures of eight registered Northeastern voters in order to be brought before the electorate in an immediate vote. The vote may begin within 24 hours of recieving the required number of signatures.

Article III, Section IV is hereby stricken & replaced with:
§ IV.The Executive has the power to make political appointments and to be the official representative of the Region to the rest of Atlas Forum. The Primary responsibility of the Governor shall be to work with the regional Senators and the Forum President to ensure that the rights, liberties, and interests of Notheastern citizens are protected. The Governor shall have the authority to propose any Initative, which shall be voted upon at the next Initiative election. In addition, the Governor has veto power over any initiative, and any veto overide will require 3/4th vote from the General Assembly of the Northeast.

I do not support recall elections. We don't need any Arnold Swarzeneggars floating about. Other than that, I support these amendments. But please, get rid of the recalls. The Californian system is not something to be modeled after.

I feel the same way...and not because I know this is meant for me.

Actually its not meant for you at all. It's simply the provisions out of the SE Constitution and it goes with the ballot initative.

I have upped the requirement to recall from 6 to 8. I have also changed it so that when an initative gets a tie vote, it is considered failed, however the proposer reserves the right to reintroduce it.

The Governor will post the ballot tomorrow night. What is it that you do Casey besides waive your title around? Take a look at the Constitution and check your duties. The reason I proposed having a seperate Governor/ Lt. Governor election is so that a Lt. Gov. can actually campaign on the issues and take an active role.

For the second night in a row my request was not fulfilled for putting a vote to this measure, despite Max Power being online at the forum right now.

MAS, relax. Not everyone is on Thanksgiving vacation.

Very well, I accept that Governor, but there are other members of this adminstration who were online at 12 last night and neglected to put it up for the vote. What's the purpose of having the Lt. Governor the President of the General Assembly then?

Casey can you tell me why you locked this till tommorrow? Also making it clear, each section is a seperate vote. There should be three votes cast.
