Do you support the Second Amendment? Favor more restrictions, repealing them, an outright ban, ect?

As for me, I oppose restrictions on machine guns, short barreled rifles/sawed-off shotguns, so-called "assault weapons," requiring permits to carry concealed handguns. I'm sure I missed many more gun control laws, and I probably oppose those ones too. Smiley

I strongly oppose all gun control.  I support 2nd Amendment rights.

I oppose mandatory trigger locks and "assault weapon" bans; I support Vermont-style laws when it comes to concealed carry.

I oppose frivolous lawsuits against gun manufacturers.

I am an assault weapon ban advocate.  Trigger locks, I am currently undecided on.  And as for background checks at gun shows, I think it's a crime that they aren't in place today.
So, yes, I am, overall, a gun control advocate

I agree, although I don't honestly know much about Vermont's laws.

In Vermont, you apparently don't even need a license to conceal a weapon.  It and Alaska are the two most relaxed states when it comes to guns.

Hmm. I wish I had put that in my post. Smiley

I will add that I support the legality of fireworks year-round, and I oppose waiting or 'cooling off' periods for gun purchases.

I'm in favor of mandatory background checks...and a record of "being stolen" guns must mean you can't buy any new ones any more. I'm in favor of having all guns registered. I'm opposed to letting persons under 16 anywhere near guns.
I'm opposed to all sorts of arbitrary distinctions between firearms. For instance, I'm opposed to the assault weapons ban. I'm opposed to mandatory waiting periods. I'm very much opposed to silly federal laws that make carrying a weapon while committing a crime punishable harder than the actual crime.
I have no opinion on concealed weapons bans.

Now place me. Grin

I basically support the NRA's position: no restrictions other than banning possession by felons.

A related issue, tougher sentencing for use of a gun in a crime, I also support.

You're intentionally being difficult to pigeonhole, aren't you?

In favor of Mandatory Backround checks for guns in dealrs & shows, for the assault weapons ban,.  As far as lawsuits against manufactures & dealers.  Crack down on the frivolous lawwsuits, but lawsuits due to negligence on the part of the manufacurer or the dealer should be legal

Well, it's no secret I am not a big fan of guns. I was raised without any guns in the house, and was raised to know that guns are bad.

Lift restrictions on ALL forearms. Only  under the condition that they also lift restrictions on all bladed weapons.

I strongly support the Second Amendment, and believe that it applies both in the individual as well as collective context -in other words, the Second Amendment protects the right not just of collective entities like the military, the police, and the National Guard to bear arms, but also the individual citizen.  The word 'militia', as I understand it, is meant to encompass not just the National Guard but also the individual citizens who compose its membership.  The Second Amendment empowers the citizenry to guard against the likelihood (remote though it may be) that the federal government turns into a tyrannical instrument bent on taking away their freedom and liberty.

Accordingly, I oppose virtually all forms of gun control, since such laws work to disempower mainly the law-abiding while the criminals naturally skirt them to the detriment of the former.  I oppose frivolous lawsuits against gun manufacturers.  I favor laws that allow law-abiding citizens to conceal and carry firearms, as well as laws that deny felons and violent criminals the right to bear firearms, as well as imposing tougher penalties in the event a firearm is used in the commission of a crime.

I support banning all people with a felony on their background from owning a weapon and support the rights of law abiding citizens to own any firearm.

I'm in similar opposition. I do support thorough background checks, though, and I'm somewhat unsure about gun show sales and so forth. But no licensing, lift bans on many assault weapons I support, right to carry laws I support, bans on most if not close to all lawsuits against gun-makers, so basically, and I hate to word it as such because it defers my own analysis, but I'm pretty much in line with the NRA.

I agree.  Just imagine trying to fit a trigger lock on your forearm!

I think his comment was in support of being allowed to wear T-shirts.  The Constitution gives us a right to bare forearms.

I might find your house, but I don't own any guns and would therefore hug you to death instead. Grin
