I was away the last five days so someone fill me in. How did Cynic get in the senate if Spiral won?
Most of these candidates are awesome, but like last time, I'll probably first preference AFJ again.
The President doesn't appoint Senators. If a vacancy happens close to the next election, the vacating Senator's party has a chance to fill it. With Dr. Cynic's excellent but shortfallen campaign, he was a natural choice for the position.
In hindsight the DRs got really lucky. It is ironic that Labor is the first in a long time to take advantage of the late term appointment capability when it is the small parties that would have the most to gain from utilizing it. It was only a difference of about six days between your resignation and the deadline I think.
