The bump can still happen.

I don’t want it to, but it’s very possible he comes out of the hospital looking sympathetic and idiot swing voters decide it’s patriotic to support the president.

Trump isn't terminally ill, Boris had a sympathy bump, due to fact we didn't know much about Covid and he didnt flaunt the rules by not wearing a mask. But, it looks like both Trump and Boris had mild symptoms of the flu

This would be reflected in his personal favorability numbers. If he's ill enough to gain that kind of sympathy, then he's likely so ill that he is not seen as fit to handle the job of the presidency, which would tank his percent of the vote in the poll.

I don`t think it is possible, the reason for his recovery will be seen in the good medical care that ordinary citizens do not have. Furthermore many voters realize that he is not even able to protect his family / wife.
