Obama surrogates need to hit McCain hard on the afternoon/evening news shows for this. "Will he ask terrorists to suspend the war on terror?", etc. Shows a real weakness and lack of leadership/multi-tasking ability on his part.

I hope they do. Because we all know political theater is more important than the financial crisis.

and that's not what the McCain campaign is doing with this move?

Why would Mccain want to ditch the debate on foreign policy? That makes no sense. In any case the debate will be postponed and not canceled right?

Because he wants the debate to be about foreign policy and not about the Wall Street Meltdown.

If it's on foreign policy, all he has to do is sit there and say "I support Israel, we are all Georgians, and the Surge is working." The market is far, far more complicated, his understanding is weaker, and there's a much greater chance he'll trip up.

Am I the only one who thinks it might not be such a good idea for McCain to be seen as closely associated with the bailout?

Keep spinning.  The liberal netroots are going to go nuts when they see a picture of Barack Obama with President Bush.

but they're on board no matter what. And that image says "bipartisanship" like nothing else.
