No way does Feingold outperform Obama. Feingold would have been much more polarizing than Obama and a lot less inspirational and symbolic.

Doesn't matter. With a tanking economy the Republicans aren't winning Virginia or Florida.

Obama single-handedly killed off the Southern Democratic party, it doesn't get more electorally polarizing than that.

Doesn't matter. With a tanking economy the Republicans aren't winning Virginia or Florida.

This is of course true, but Feingold still probably wins FL even without the collapse of Lehman Brothers, Obama would've certainly lost it (and VA etc.) if you look at the polling.
