Besides the whole Jerusalem debacle, I'd say it was near perfect.

Okay, maybe Mike Johnson is a competent parliamentarian.

(Band name.)

Clocks in at a B. Would've been a low A if not for that. Some great speeches.

About a million times more effective and better constructed than the Republican convention. Even if you have a partisan-hack disagreement with the effectiveness of it in terms of talking up Obama and staying on a singular message (something Democrats usually suck at), the impressive stagecraft is basically inarguable.

In terms of what a convention is supposed to be, it's probably one of the best Democratic conventions in recent political history.

I give it a 'B'.

I am VERY disappointed that there were no mentions of the "We are the 99%" theme that practically fell right in their laps. Whoever decided to ignore this theme needs to be fired.

C+ for the DNC - Bill Clinton and Deval Patrick were fantastic, Joe Biden is a good speaker, but Obama was empty and uninspiring, continuing his post-2008 lethargy tour.

C- for the RNC - Every speech was flawed, but more solid throughout, though Santorum's speech is single handedly the funniest speech of the year.
