Some kids go out and play sports. Basketball, baseball, kickball. But I haven't been a middle school student for awhile.

It varies. Some go to summer camps, some stay at home and do whatever it is they do there that amuses them, others go on vacations with family.

I'm in high school, but I spend my summer vacation sleeping, playing music and playing video games.

One summer we went to Mexico.  One summer we just tooled around, I think we went north to Ontario, then west to some intermontane states and the desert southwest.  Mostly we just ate junkfood and watched television and played video games and hassled the girls.

This is why we have the worst scores in math and science.  When my son is in middle school, he'll spend his summers doing some original research, practicing piano, composing short stories, and learning calculus.
