First, check out the list of Senators brave enough to oppose retroactive immunity for telephone companies who complied with Bush in breaking the law by spying on American citizens.

Then, watch Chris Dodd's final speech from the 30 hour filibuster against the bill which he led.

The bill has been pulled.

He says that like it's a bad thing.

Good for Dodd. Sessions is so stupid even for a Republican it's unbelievable.

For the record, Obama cosponsored the amendment to remove the wording (with Dodd).

Chris Dodd for Majority Leader!

Too bad Obama and Clinton were too busy bickering with each other yesterday to lead on the issue. It's a good thing we have people in the Senate, like Dodd, who actually do something.

I'm still saying "Chris Dodd for President".  But I know, I know...that's going nowhere...

I am glad to see that one Presidential candidate has the time to be in the Senate and filibuster such a thing. Good on ya Chris Dodd!. Atleast someone running for President of the United States cares about Senate issues, whilst running. A question if I may, does anybody know what Hillary's position on this is? I really hope she would have voted Nay so then I would have a reason to hate her even more Grin

Obama and Clinton (and I assume Biden? not sure) both "supported" the filibuster. When I say "support", I mean they put out press releases.

Completely off topic, but from the main forum page I just saw "Chris Dodd kills ret..." and the first thing that came to mind was "retired person." Grin

but really, I love Dodd.

I know you like him, but surprised your on dodd's side here.  I thought you agreed with Bush and his pissing on the constitution in the name of "security" way of going about things.
