The campaign is mind-bogglingly inept.

Will this debate be worth staying up for or should I just watch it tomorrow? I'm already pretty tired

If you stay up and watch it, nothing much will happen.

If you go to bed early, you'll miss something major.

You know that's the way it works. Wink

The fact that Biden hasn't lost his temper and punched out Trump is the best indication I've seen that he has the proper temperament to be Commander in Chief.

In a nutshell:

Trump needed to give people a reason to vote for him (people who weren't already planning to).

Biden needed to show that he was sound of mind and competent.

Trump failed, Biden succeeded.

Cut the mics during the 2 minute answers. During the open discussion, leave them on. If after a few admonishments they keep interrupting, then cut them then too and let the moderator direct who speaks when in those discussions. For the townhall, cut the other guy's mic during the question and rebuttal/response.

AIUI, the commission's rules only allow the moderator to have the ability to cut mics if both campaigns agreed to it.  Trump, at least, would never agree to it.

I work in a 70% Trump county.  I came to work today and every one of my coworkers said the debate left them with bad impressions of both candidates, but mostly Trump. Some said it gave them anxiety.

These are Trump voters, who think he did poorly.

My wife reported a similar reaction from her coworkers, who are almost all MAGA and Qanon believers (also in Forsyth County, which I believe is where you said you worked).

No, George is my cousin.  We don't like to talk about him much.

Fist debate is now irrelevant. Out of the news cycle forever. Ridiculous year.

On the contrary.  The main thing everyone will remember from it now is Trump mocking Biden for wearing a mask.  That one's going to last.

Since this tweet, HarrisX has also released a Biden+7 post-debate poll, up from +5.
