I picked Warren because of how historians rank him. I would have voted for Stevenson anyway, but if I was a Republican at that time, and not a Democrat, probably Ike.

That's true, but youm must remember that Stassen had an organization, and MacArthur didn't.

True again. But, I think MacArthur wanted the glory of the Presidency, without doing the work of getting there.

In 52 I'd of probably picked Eisenhower. He was one of our better Presidents. In 56, I'd of picked Stevenson, just to spread it out between two exceptional candidates.

The economy remained strong during his first term, though by 1960, it was in the crapper. The Interstate Highway from NY to CA was built.
