The influence deployed by the People's Republic of China, via its vast "recently obtained" economic resources is going to be one of the great threats to the freedom of expression, support for human rights and the conduct of a sovereign Atlasian foreign policy free of subversion or interference. I don't think we are fully cognizant of the full extent to which the influence of this will be felt, nor appreciate the dangers that such poses.

This is not about any kind of animosity or ill feelings towards the people of China or even China as a nation, but a desire to limit the abuses by a regime that has repeatedly demonstrated again and again and again, its desire to control and suppress both its own people and its neighbors and the obvious danger is that any global opposition to this kind of behavior will be suppressed through monetary leverage.

I certainly support this bill as a great step towards addressing these concerns.

Nay on the S019 amendment

Are we voting on that? I’m somewhat confused

When he opened the vote he said it was the S019 amendment: https://talkelections.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=514010.msg8681640#msg8681640
