Huh You don't serve as Governor and Ambassador to China at the same time. He knows that would be an insult to Iowa (and we don't exactly want another reason to disrespect China right now as well).

How would he fair against a strong Democratic contender if he somehow managed to pull of a primary upset in 2018?

Probably badly. Question is, do Democrats have a strong contender? Their bench is mostly state senators at this point.
