I don't think Obama is the first President who's been elevated like that.......
How many throughout our history were thought to be able to save the day and the country?
In fact many were war heroes who we so adored we elevated them to the highest office in the land.....sounds like a messiah complex then too. Off the top of my head - Washington (who they originally wanted to be King), Andrew Jackson, William Henry Harrison, Grant, Teddy Roosevelt, Ike. (I'm sure I missed some).
This is the first time we've seen the word "Messiah" that I know of but is the concept so different with Obama?
