Seems kinda arbitrary. Like Biden could have packaged his 17 (?) day 1 executive orders into a single executive order and just counted that as 1.

In terms of the immediate rollout, I don't think we should be surprised.

Trump operated a lot of his executive power on an 'own the libs' basis, and Biden basically undid most of that nonsense on day one.

Also, when Bush, Obama etc were President, I seem to remember there was a consensus that dripping out executive orders slowly, one at a time, was a good way to control the narrative, and keep your administration in the news. Now, that's no longer viable for two reasons:
1. The news moves faster, undermining your attempt to control the narrative.
2. The country is in a state of crisis, and it's better to make changes that will improve people's lives now, rather than wait until you think it will advantage you.

I remember the use of executive orders by GWB was a big concern.  And justifiably imo, but now that looks almost quaint.

Thanks for proving my sarcastic point that fascism has little meaning anymore.  Really using the "Defense Production Act" is technically actual fascism: forcing companies to do what the state commands; regardless of the good intentions.
