Um, how?

The only way he would have that power would be if the 25th has been invoked...

Everyone he talked to but not one of them being the "President".

Brian Kemp, governor of Georgia, has shown more leadership today than President Trump. This, even though the attacks today had nothing to do with Georgia and happened hundreds of miles away.

I was shocked when I saw that press conference. Was still a low bar, but still glad to see Kemp show some spine.

Today has been terrible for Trump on Twitter. First Pence ghosts him and now his account has been locked.

Pence didn't unfollow him though. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/pence-trump-twitter-jan-6-riots/

From the NBC News liveblog:

Quote
Rand Paul: No more objections expected to Electoral College count

No more objections are expected as lawmakers expect to continue the certification process for the Electoral College votes Wednesday, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., told reporters.

Both chambers of Congress were in the midst of debate on a GOP objection to the Arizona results when supporters of President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol, forcing members of the House and Senate to flee for safety.

Legislators will vote to close debate after they resume, but Paul said he does not anticipate anymore objections to the process. Republican Sens. Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley, along with other Republican lawmakers, previously threatened to object to election results in some states citing baseless claims of fraud.

So they admit it was full grandstanding. If they REALLY believed in fraud they wouldn't have backed down.

I never thought I'm happy to hear him speak. He's at least acting like a statesman.

I don't think I've ever seen McConnell so emotional. Despite losing his majority he's still doing the right thing.

I don't think me 8-9 years ago would have ever thought Romney would one day be a national hero, but wow.

Wow: Lindsey Graham DEFIANTLY and BRAVELY accepts election results. Inspiring.
After sowing doubt for months.

Removing him would be looked back on, in fifty years, as the best thing to ever happen to heal this nation.  And, from a purely political perspective, it would be the start of the climb out of the pit for the GOP.

Do it!

JOE BIDEN 47!

47th VP becomes 47th President.

DOGEBOMB

no freaking way.  more than half of these thugs are literally voting to object to Biden's clear win.

You'd need a majority of the House to impeach and 2/3 of the Senate (66 for now) to convict. Not implausible.

Who would be the Republican senators to get to that number though?

Let's start with Romney, Murkowski, Collins.

Hell let's say McConnell, Sasse, Toomey, Capito, Thune, the Georgia Senators for the hell of it...

That still leaves like 8 senators needed.

I think McConnell can whip up the votes. Especially those who just won re-election and no longer worry about appeasing Trump.

He has a history of that kind of stuff

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/politics-news/rudy-giuliani-butt-dials-nbc-reporter-heard-discussing-need-cash-n1071901

Rudy Giuliani butt-dials NBC reporter, heard discussing need for cash and trashing Bidens (2019)

The call came in at 11:07 p.m. and went to voicemail; the reporter was asleep.

The next morning, a message exactly three minutes long was sitting in the reporter's voicemail. In the recording, the words tumbling out of Giuliani's mouth were not directed at the reporter. He was speaking to someone else, someone in the same room.

https://news.yahoo.com/giuliani-caught-voicemail-saying-planned-000000059.html
Giuliani caught on voicemail saying he planned to ‘get rid of’ his phone number, raising questions about evidence destruction (December 2020)

NEW YORK — Rudy Giuliani’s ineptitude with smartphones came back to bite him once again Tuesday — this time in the case against a former business partner accused of political corruption.

An attorney for Lev Parnas revealed in a new Manhattan Federal Court filing that he received an odd voicemail from Giuliani weeks after the Ukraine-born businessman’s arrest. In classic Giuliani fashion, the personal attorney for President Donald Trump failed to hang up his phone.

Was thinking about this when I made this post. I just don't understand how after those screw-ups he still made the same mistake.

I guess she isn't going to do the 25th Amendment?

Maybe to ramp up pressure of impeachment and conviction?

Coward. Doesn't want to expose her hubby to the political Fallout of having to take a stand for basic American principles of democracy.

Not leaving until Monday, leaves the option available if needed.
