Still some Arlington and Richmond to go.  Webb won't win but it'll likely get within 15,000 which will scare networks away from projecting it.

Webb is now leading Allen, albeit narrowly, with 0.08%.  This is with more than 92% precincts reporting.

Where is this from?

I just found it odd that Webb went from down 30000 to leading to down 20000 in a matter of seconds.

Allen leads Webb with nearly 20,000 votes with only 78 precincts left to report.   Sad

It looks like Allen will indeed retain his Senate seat though only in a squeeker.

Sen. Allen: 49.68%
Jim Webb: 49.12%
---------------------------------------

Still, I have to salute Webb -he made this race even closer than I originally hoped he would.  I once hoped that he would keep Allen from winning at or over 55% of the vote, and it currently looks as if he will keep Allen from winning even 50%.  Allen's presidential hopes (at least as far as 2008 is concerned) are dead as a doornail, and the results from this race has slammed the door tight shut.  If there was even a shadow of doubt before, there is absolutely none now.

Where are you getting that from?  I'm seeing Webb within 5000 votes.

CNN has said Webb has the right to demand recount if margin is within 1%.

Yeah, I might as well just confirm what you are insinuating -I made it all up.  Roll Eyes

Not the point.  But Webb is currently within 5000 and will get closer.  We're headed to a recount.
