Honestly, how does Cruz expect to win? He is no longer viewed as an alternative to Trump by the establishment. He can't peel his voters. He doesn't have the liberty base. Hell, he didn't place second in SC. What option does he have other than Trump's VP spot?

I thought the Romney endorsement was a false rumor?

Anyway, Cruz is probably hoping that he has more strength in the west than in the south.  He's also probably hoping he can hold the balance of power in a brokered convention.

Really, who is Mitt Romney?  He's a twice-failed Presidential candidate with a record as Governor of Massachusetts that (A) is not a conservative record and (B) has, as it's prime achievement, the healthcare plan on the state level that is the template for Obamacare.  (Bobby Jindal was caught on camera once talking about "Obomney Care"; it was a hoot.)

Mitt's just one more member of the Eastern Establishment Donor Class.  Maybe he wants to be Rubio's VP, but what does it say that Rubio wasn't good enough to be Mitt's VP?  Unless Mitt Romney were to inject himself into the race, nothing he does will move any needles for anybody.

The same plan he's had the whole time:

Will it work? No clue. I don't think he planned on fighting Trump + Rubio + Kasich on Super Tuesday. But he's not as far off his rails as the media seems to think. And, if there is no actual winner, that obscure rule could make him the only possible alternative to Trump.

Pretty sure the Romney rumor is fake, guys.  All sources point back to HuffPo.

Now now, RomneyCare isn't the same as ObamaCare. RomneyCare covers abortions. Tongue

Mitt "the most obviously liberal in conservative clothing" Romney's endorsement means nothing even if the rumor was true it won't boost Rubio at all.
