Most people would probably be shocked if you told them their clothes were produced in a way virtually indistinguishable from the way they were a century ago - rooms full of women hunched over sewing machines, working for little pay in abysmal conditions.

Now it's just happening in Bangladesh instead of Brooklyn.

indeed.  If a person claims to "support the worker" and buys new clothes all the time (unless properly sourced, you can buy clothes not made with quasi slave labor), they are an asshole.
