In case you haven't realized, Halloween is the official beginning of the 2007 Holiday Season.

So, now that Halloween is over, what are your plans for Thanksgiving and Christmas (or the holidays you celebrate this time of year)?

Any plans for New Years Eve, yet?

I don't have any plans for next week, let alone New Year's Eve.

I'll be in LA for New Year's.  Should be fun.  My brother is marching in the Rose Parade.

I'm going home for Thanksgiving, will be living at home over Christmas, and will be in the process of moving around New Year's. I'll probably end up at the bars with my parents on New Year's Eve, as dorky as that sounds (on the other hand, it's a bit more socially acceptable once you've graduated from college).

CHRISTMAS MUSIC!!!  It was fun having Halloween here on a campus - b/c it died down back home recently, although there was still no hype leading up to it, which I miss.

As for Turkey Day - going home - Christmas - going up to visit my friend here @ college for her Christmas in the Village thing, then home for the rest of the time.

New Years Eve - party somewhere!

I'm at home for Christmas (going to Belgium the week before for a few days) As for Hogmanay, I don't have plans yet Smiley Hopefully it will be a nice night in with friends.

Sounds great.

As for  me, most of these holidays are kind of glossed over here in Thailand, particularly in areas far from tourism, like where I live.  Some people have parties or put up decorations associated with white-man's holidays, though.  For example I attended a departmental Halloween party - lots of cute Thai coeds dressed up as devils and nurses.. I have to say I enjoyed it.

OK - I forget, what exactly do you do in Thailand?

I'm going to be on the lookout for Christmas commercials and snow. A bit of a post-Halloween tradition for me. Tongue Grin

Uh, December 1 is the beginning of the Christmas season. Did you skip sunday school during the Advent classes?

Anyway, I'm in Thailand until December 14th, am spending the holidays with my folks at home, then hiking with a buddy after New Years, and going to Puerto Rico with my folks sometime in January.

I'm a Cancer, and I fit well with the "home body" stereotype.

At Thanksgiving, I'll be home with family.  The day after, if there are good specials, I'll get up early and do a little Christmas shopping, but by afternoon I hope to be hitting the slopes for the opening of ski season.

At Christmas, we celebrate on Christmas Eve mostly by having our traditional Prime Rib with parsnips and Yorkshire pudding and then exchanging gifts around the tree with Christmas music playing.  We don't go to church.  I figure, we never go any other day during the year...

Christmas morning we have brunch and though Santa no longer comes, we still do stockings... though now that I have a 2 year old Nephew, Santa is making a come back.  In the evening we head over the river and through the woods to Grandma's and she always has ham, Swedish meatballs, lefse, cheesy hashbrown hotdish, and deviled eggs.  Oh, and sherbet punch... no big huge family celebrations.. just my immediate family and my grandparents.

Then I spend most of the week before New Years skiing and doing wintry things.  Then we have New Years at a friend's house.

No plans yet, but experience tells me I'll be with my mom on Christmas Eve and with my dad on either Christmas Day or Boxing Day.

I tend to plan that as soon as Christmas is over. And I tend to run fairly wild on New Years Eve.
