You can hate the United States without hating the actual states.

No, I don't hate the UN - it's a rather diverse group. However they need some serious reform. Nations that are run by tyrannical regimes should have no say, for one thing.

No, the United Nations is the ideological bulwark against challenges to American hegemony.

That's kinda after V-J Day, though the treaties were not signed at that point.

Yes, the United Nations is a subtle attempt to combine all of the nations in the world into one repressive tyrannical regime.

Two different things. The original "UN" were the allies in WWII, the current UN wasn't really founded until around when World War II ended.

Hmm, I can play this game too.....

North America won World War II!!!!

North America includes:
Greenland
Canada
United States
Mexico

Over two thirds of these nations were victorious in the war, therefore North America is the greatest thing in the world.  Do you hate North America?

France won and lost the French Revolution all at once.  So, they are obviously better than the US! Wink

This is a very misleading topic.  Why am I not surprised?

The United Nations of World War II was basically the US, Great Britain and the Soviet Union.  It was a military alliance, not a peace organization.  The other countries were window dressing, but it was a good propaganda move to create the impression that the whole world was united against Germany.  If only it had been true, the war wouldn't have been necessary in the first place.  Still, it was a great public relations move.

The UN of today was formed in 1945 after the end of the European war.  There is a very loose and tenuous connection, at best, between the military alliance that won WWII and the current clownish configuration that resembles a mad hatter's tea party.  Libya and Syria as heads of the human rights commission?  Yeah, right.  That's an organization on some type of hallucinatory drug.
