Well, that's a wild one in the Big East.  Hurley gets tossed for pumping up the crowd and UConn pulls one out of nowhere in the final 30 seconds.

That crowd certainly seemed to want it more than anything else in the world...very impressed. Another fantastic game.

Providence conference title odds will go up from 40% to 55%. Surprised it's not more. Likely just need to beat Xavier and Creighton at home this week but definitely still vulnerable. Drop one, and March 1 becomes the de facto Big East regular-season championship.

In spite of historic greatness, the Big XII is really cannibalizing itself with a clear first tier and second tier and few upsets despite everyone being a top 50 team. Might be as few as 5 bids.

After losing to OSU, Kansas State needs to win @ Texas Tech or @ Kansas. Quite possibly both (i.e., win out) and a game in the conference tournament.

After losing by 20 points, Oklahoma definitely needs to win out, starting with @ Texas Tech.

While a loss today was obviously expected, TCU is still projected in if they go 2-4 with an immediate B12 tournament loss. I'm not really seeing it personally, especially if those two wins are WVU. They may have a lot of Q1 wins by virtue of being in this conference, but only Iowa State (1) and LSU are currently in the field. OOC schedule is trash.

As a TCU alum who knew Jamie Dixon back in the day, I feel like I should stand up for them, but they are basically the BYU of the B12.  Kind of just getting in because their conference deserves bids and the teams just below them just can't be justified.  Santa Clara has actually beat both and probably is a better team  but had a "Rutgers" run (bad) that really hurt their Net

Good comp, didn't realize how close these resumes are because BYU is not close for me, but TCU was getting super close. Definitely ahead.

No sense in projecting out to be honest. They'll either steal one or they won't be good enough. Finishing 2-7 (and quite likely 2-8 because they project to be the 5 or 6 seed) just feels ugly. :/

Good luck to you and dfw. Long overdue after a couple other Dixon teams got screwed because they play in this conference.

San Diego State got F’d by a bad foul call with less than two seconds left against Boise State.

Xavier and Providence are going to a third OT, tied at 88.

EDIT: Providence won 99-92 in 3OT.

Senior Will Alcock of Loyola Chicago, who I presume is a walk-on had scored 9 points in his 4 yr career as a Rambler scored 9 point tonight in his last home game as a Rambler as Loyola beat Evansville 82-31.  UNI and Loyola go head to head Saturday in a winner wins the conference on Saturday.  Loyola has been inconsistent enough that they aren't a lock for a tourney bid

The Big East probably is the most exciting conference to watch, night in night out.  Creighton snuck one out at St. John's tonight too.

Rutgers had a big loss tonight, though you could see it coming, with Michigan having to show some pride after the recent debacle.

Although it turns out Creighton has lost their point guard for the season, the younger Nembhard.  They're  probably in the tourney (unless they somehow play Butler again) but it's obviously a big loss.

Georgetown leads DePaul 65-64 with just over a minute left.  This is their best chance to get a conference win this season.

ETA: But it was not to be, as DePaul won 68-65.  Georgetown had the final possession and *four* good looks from three to tie it, but missed all of them.

Absolutely atrocious refereeing to the very end in the Illinois-OSU game tonight. The Big Ten should show that crew the door.

My "NET"pick of the week is that Loyola's 51 point win over a 6-22 team at home somehow raised them from 37 to 29 in the NET rankings, I know some other things are going on and the teams in the 30s must be tightly grouped, but c'mon.

B1G reffing has been an absolute disaster this year. I have no idea how they can keep the status quo. There must be a reckoning of some kind this offseason.

Dayton takes a very bad loss at La Salle, severely damaging their hopes of an at-large bid.

Northern Iowa won a wild one in OT, 102-96, to win the regular season title.  Lunardi said that Loyola wasn't out of the field with a loss, but they would be dangerously close to it.

SEC setting up for a photo finish with Arkansas, Auburn, Kentucky, and Tennessee fighting it out for the title.

Auburn has been struggling on the road, but they still have the inside track to win it all.  The Razorbacks are playing awesome--hard to believe that they lost at home to Vanderbilt earlier in the year.  That could be the difference.

Auburn is 13-3 and the other three are 12-4.  Remaining games:

Auburn: @Mississippi State, South Carolina
Arkansas: LSU, @Tennessee
Kentucky: Ole Miss, @Florida
Tennessee: @Georgia, Arkansas

Arkansas has very favorable tiebreakers, as they're 1-0 against each of the other three (with the final game against Tennessee still to play).
