Top 5 states in union growth (%): TN, GA, AL, SC, VA.

But it's not just percentage growth that's interesting: doing some rough counts, the total number of union jobs created in these five states in 2013 (135,000) was more than the net number of new union jobs added nationally in 2013 (~120,000).

Interesting.  My anecdotal evidence says that poor white Southerners are hostile to the very idea of unions and wouldn't want to sign up for one even if one was available.
