1."Two of the three Senate Republicans negotiating a bipartisan deal on health care reform said they consider an agreement out of reach before the Senate goes on its August recess"

2."Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid had already postponed Senate floor action on health care legislation until the fall"

3."Earlier Wednesday, some Blue Dogs in House say they reached compromise"

These are some of the most damning quotes from an old CNN article about the 2009 August recess. Looking back Obama and Dems were in trouble the second harry Reid decided to wait until after the August recess in order to pass health care reform. This allowed the GOP to drag things out until next year and Obama would not sign anything until March 23, 2010.

Hopefully the Dems learned their lesson because Schumer clearly is not going to repeat Harry Reid foolish mistake of waiting until after the August recess before passing a major bill. This time around Schumer has already warned senators that the Senate will work through the coming weekend and into its scheduled August recess in order to finish work on the bipartisan infrastructure bil
