Gingrich is definitely more than the flavour of the month. No candidate in this Republican primary has every attracted so much support. He'll be the nominee.

There's no point in even holding elections in the south.

Surprisingly, it isn't Gurrl Power.  It's Tea Party folks, self-identified "liberals," and the 18-29 crowd.  (See crosstabs)

Does anyone have any thoughts as to why the youth vote is so motivated by Bachmann?

Odd, Republican youth generally go with Paul.  Maybe there is more polarization in the millenial generation?

She got some press with her comment about how Americorps amounted to "politically correct youth re-education camps."  Maybe that perked up a few young ears.  She also doesn't do nuance.  If she has something to say, she just says it, which I suppose would endear her to the short-attention-span generation.

My guess is that the youth population is rather polarized on social issues and that she's pulling in the really socially conservative youth. The idea that the young are all superliberal or libertarian is not true.

Yes... this IS more then just a flavor of the month. We have found the Anti-Romney and he is proving that the GOP has had enough of Mitt skating by hoping to coast to our nomination

My guess is that crosstabs that small are pointless to analyze.

Generally true, but this pattern has been popping up rather consistently in polling.

It's like NH, but reversed, and in a bajillion more states.

I don't think this is a flavor of the month here, folks. The last one to reach 50% was...let's see...I can't...the third one I can't...sorry. Oops.

Gingrich doesn't have as many glaring flaws, and he's bound to gain a boost what with the whole winning-IA thing.
