I always dreamed of having a fake divorce with my wife yet live togeather with our child. We will save many tens of thousands of dollars. But the social cost would be so too high in terms of work, school and personal life aside from the fact that my wife will not agree to a scheme like this anyway, even though she is quite an utilitarian like myself. For now it is just a dream that i drool over the the money I can claw back from the government.
This is really a very enlightening view into a certain mindset.
