Mission

Formerly known as the Coolidge Society, the Henry Hazlitt Society is back. It is here as a group dedicated to sustaining the values that make Atlasia great.  If you support limited government, strict adherence to the Constitution, fiscal responsibility, and skepticism to new regulations, and efficiency, then we'd appreciate your support so we can finally begin to move Atlasia in this direction

Current Economic Platform Committee

DeadPrez

Economic Platform

Taxes:

- Cut Taxes(Exact rates can be decided as a group) for both individuals and businesses to increase customer demand and create more jobs

- Have small businesses who employ 3 or more people pay taxes at the corporate rate not income

- Eliminate loopholes to broaden the tax base

Spending Reform:

-Eliminate all pork Barrel and Earmark Spending

- Limit overall spending to a certain % (the group can decide the number ) to GDP unless both houses of Congress approve of the Budget with a 2/3 vote

- Audit the Departments which the government spends the most money, and use the audit to cut out waste from those departments

- Index user fees to inflation

- Lift the moratorium on issuing new mining claims under the General Mining Act

- Privatize federal power companies such as the Bonneville Power Administration, the RUS, and the TVA

- Make government spending more efficient in general

-Reductions in spending that is not covered by increased revenue from tax cuts

Regulations:

- Require a cost-benefit analysis by a third party group for any new proposed regulations.

- Once a new Regulation has been implemented, have third party groups do periodic analysis of the regulation to see whether it has remained a benefit or not.

- Require Congressional approval for any regulation which costs more than $500 million to the economy.

- Send much of the regulatory power back to states and regional governments

- Require banks receiving bailouts by the federal governments or the reserve bank to be audited by Congress.

Monetary Reform:
- Audit of the Central Bank

- Increased Congressional oversight over who is nominated at the board

- Reducing the ability of central banks to bailout businesses and private banks with taxpayer dollars

- Move towards Central Banks being the lender of last resort

-

- Eliminate mandatory federal marketing boards and marketing orders

- Eliminate mandatory crop withholding

- Eliminate per-weight subsidies for crops

- Prohibit mandatory microchipping of livestock

- Allow the sale of raw milk if the milk is labeled as such

Medicine:

- We ask that the Cheaper Medicine Helps the Poors Act be passed by Congress once the President reintroduces it without the socialist price caps.

- Terminal patients should be allowed to test medicines which have passed the FDA phase-I trial stage.

- Reductions in the restrictions on potentially life-saving drugs

-Eliminate medical reforms that are lobbied for by companies

Interesting I hadn't noticed this before.

Is this seeking to replace the Coolidge Society as a Federalist Caucus or operate as an independent entity?

It's basically a remake of the Coolidge Society. I am open to operating as an independent entity or working with others who aren't Federalists.

I think OSR and I were the peeps in charge of Coolidge, so its assuredly defunct now. DeadPrez is free to replace it and rename it.

I revived this because I am very passionate about politics. However, in the event that all the caucuses meet up and plan events for the Federalist Party, I don't want to chair multiple caucuses. There could possibly be a conflict of interest and I would like to avoid that. If anyone wants to be the chair, I will resign. However, if you think this conflict won't impact the a future committee, then I will continue being chairmen.

As the founder of the Coolidge Society, we need more cross-Party partnerships. This could be a place Conservatives and Federalists can cast vision on what issues we hold in principle.

As a rising Southern Delegate, who is also the chair of the Hazlitt Society and the Liberty or Death Caucus, I think it's important that I continue to keep the groups updated on what is going on in the Southern region. Others should do the same for their region. In the next few weeks, I will be introducing my first piece of legislation, which is apart of a broader freedom based platform designed to help those less fortunate. It's important to reach out to marginalized communities to ensure them that we are for them. Additionally, middle america suffers from a variety of tragedies that both federal and regional governments have handled poorly. Since they refuse to handle the tasks asked of their constituents, I will handle it.

More specifically, my first bill will focus on strengthening the economic opportunities in low-income communities. It's important for citizens to have access to economic mobility and more importantly, be able to fully access their inherent human capital. This bill will fix many of the problems.

One way to get bipartisan support for market-based reforms is to address rising tuition costs for higher education. I recently introduced a bill trying to remove the barriers to entry for future lawyers, while also ensuring current law students and future law students still have the option of continuing their current legal path. For anyone interested in trying to get significant legislation passed in Lincoln or Fremont, here is an example of a bill. If you have any questions, pm me. I think this bill will pass with little opposition
