We, Frederick Wilhelm I of the Ancient and Noble House of Hohenzollern,

Margrave of Brandenburg, Imperial Elector, Duke of Prussia and Cleves, Count of Mark, etc.

To all whom these presents come, greetings.

Nothing is dearer to Our heart than peace in Europe and prosperity for Our people. Therefore continuing economic growth of Our realms shall be the first priority.

We shall be absolutely delighted to welcome industrious protestant settlers from Europe, fleeing persecution of the True Faith, in our lands. Skilled craftsmen, navigators, shipbuilders and farmers shall be received with open hands and provided accomodations.

(Guys, if you hate your protestants, I'd take some Tongue)

Proclamation

We share His Imperial Majesty's expressed desire for opposing any foreign aggression within the Realm that could plunge our land into another lengthy war. Having seen too many deaths, rapes and robberies, We desire nothing but peace and prosperity for our loyal subjects. But for peace to be secured one must maintain a strong military posture to deter any aggression.

Therefore We, Frederick Wilhelm, Duke of Prussia, Elector of Brandenburg, Duke of Cleves, Count of Mark etc. etc., do hereby direct that,

- Armies of Brandenburg, Prussia and Our other holdings must become an integrated military force.

- As we have no desire to enlarge the numbers of our present armies, We order that a Landwehr be established as an auxiliary force to support preparedness and facilitate swift recruitment of new troops in case of emergency. The Landwehr shall consist of cadre units, staffed by regular army experienced officers and non-commissioned officers, and tasked with maintaining the lists of suitable recruits and periodically training potential recruits in the art of warfare. Our holdings shall be divided into cantons, where each of such units will operate.

Brandenburg and Prussia applaud Russia and the Ottoman Empire, two historically hostile powers that managed to reach an understanding for mutual benefit and perpetuating peace in our continent. Berlin sees both as partners in ensuring that the balance of power is preserved.
