It wasn't funny but it made the Hulkabeast squirm so kudos!

Huckabee got the best press of anyone out of this unfortunate affair, with his pose under fire, so your schadenfreude might be a bit misplaced here.
I haven't been paying attention to the media response, nor do I care. LOL. I just liked seeing her ripped to shreds to her face. Smiley

I guess we all like to see folks get their comeuppance.

I'll like seeing Stacey Abrams go down in flames on primary day.  I'll enjoy it greatly, to be honest.

I just got home from early voting for Stacey Abrams.

The humor isn't in itself as it is the actual triggering.

Political comedy at this point is pretty much just a sort of self-congratulatory exercise for people to feel superior to their opponents.

I found a lot of it to be funny on the whole (actually she was way better than Hassan Manaj) but yeah, what she said about Sarah Huckabee Sanders was just mean-spirited and not particularly funny either.

Was she shrill?

No, just kind of unnecessarily cruel to Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Some of her jokes (like the Jake Tapper one) were hysterical. Much better than Hassan Manaj, like I said.

Why do you want to see Stacey Abrams go down in flames? She's not even running in your state or to represent you.
In that case, hopefully the rest of Atlas will STFU about Rick Scott.
I must confess no love for Scott, and I endorse Bill Nelson (D) for re-election.  A man who takes the fifth over 70 times in a deposition is unfit for public office.

In truth, if I made some of the comments Michelle Wolf made about people's wives, mothers, sisters, or daughters here, I wouldn't be surprised to find myself on the losing end of some "corporal punishment" by some of the aggrieved loved ones, requiring a short hospitalization.

It's amazing how cruel folks can be with an entourage to back them up.

The fake outrage is really pathetic.

Fake outrage has always been one of the central tenets of Republican ideology.

Fake outrage has always been one of the central tenets of Republican ideology.

I'm not denying the fake outrage of the GOP, but I can flood the forum with threads of Democratic fake outrage.

The fake outrage over criticism of the Parkland students being criticized for their advocacy of gun control is the most prominent example.

Just watched an exception of Wolf's remarks. To be fair, I don't find them very funny, especially on Sarah Sanders. I don't like the latter, but the jokes/remarks were just not very classy. Sometimes it seems that a number of Trump opponents go with the motto "if they go low, we also go low".

That is a good point. Most people who commentate in a political sense have got some axe to grind with their opposite ideology.

Then they chalk up how good they are sounding confident and superior.

Everyone seems to be spitting from a great height.

I can understand a mudfest in a campaign, and I don't begrudge either side "going negative".  If this is a "campaign" event, however, it begs the question of the objectivity of the Fourth Estate.

Because smearing teenagers who just saw their friends and colleagues shot is obviously no big deal.

Reminds me of the recent ECHO scandal in Germany, where a controversial songtext by rappers led to the cancellation of the ECHO in future years:

The WHCD could follow suit (even though many jokes from Wolf were pretty funny).

It is funny how Republicans care so much about being nice and respectful when it means licking the boots of men with power but think blunt honesty is what's needed when trampling down private citizens who went through traumatic experiences. Yet another exhibit of how the modern GOP lacks any intellectual coherency or moral principle.

I thought the bit was solid, though not fantastic. The awkward delivery was obviously intentional and the fact that some of it fell flat is because the targets can't always take the jokes. The complaint that you can tell she really dislikes Trump or whatever is like yeah, who in their right mind wouldn't?

The WHCD remains a great American tradition. One of the things in which the US does still stand out as an example to most other countries, including most liberal democracies is the acceptance that those in power are expected to face derision and have to take it. It's a valuable thing to preserve true freedom of speech. As such, it is unsurprising that the Constitution-hating Republicans are so upset about it since dismantling Constitutional freedoms is one of their overarching ambitions. To quote their great leader - "some people will say 'freedom of speech', 'freedom of speech'. Those are stupid people."

Endless props to Wolf for not apologizing.

When the only people mad at you are conservatives and losers like Maggie Haberman and Dennis Miller, you have done nothing wrong.

After all the right wing whining and gnashing of teeth,  I watched the full set on YouTube and was pretty underwhelmed. Aside from a couple jokes that pushed the envelope, it was pretty standard, tame stuff. No worse than a Trump stump speech really.

Imagine giving a hellspawn of Mike Huckabee, whose job is to lie for a living, any sort of empathy or care.

Especially when all this handwringing is coming from the same people who turn into MUH FREE SPEECH, MUH PC POLICE, MUH SJWS,  MUH TRIGGERED?!?!? dips**ts when the shoe is on the other foot.

Oh, so she only called for riots in the streets and the assassinations once or twice?
