The fact of the matter is...
We're just kicking the can down the road (recently)
The American people...

etc.

Post all of the annoying, repetitive, cringe-worthy statements said over and over again by politicians here.

Invoking the "founding fathers" is the absolute worst.

Saying "you didn't build that" to those who built things.
"Israel is the only Democracy in the Middle East" is also annoying.

The thing I find most annoying is not what they say but when they use props. A bipartisan sin

"the same old Washington politics"

"we need to hold Congress/the President/Agency XYZ accountable to the American people"

"[the] taxpayers"

"both Democrats and Republicans are to blame for _______" (used by moderate heroes to try to sound evenhanded even when the issue in question is basically all one party's fault; used by Tea Partiers to sound like they're outside the political process and suspicious of both parties despite being in the tank for the Republicans)

"I will apply the principles I learned running my small business to serving as [governor/congressman/legislator]" (because they're totally the same thing)

"[hard-]working families" (used by Republicans to refer the beneficiaries of policies that basically only benefit rich people; used by Democrats to refer to families where no one is actually working)

"My opponent voted with [Nancy Pelosi/John Boehner/etc] 95% of the time" (includes procedural votes; completely dishonest)

Both parties are at fault here
The word "Family" or "Families" (Family values, ect.)
This bill is a job-killer
The government should pay it's bills the same way your family does!

For American politics:

- This can only happen in America. (Bi-partisan)
- I'm doing this for [kid/single mother/plumber/pensioner] who [insert cheesy sob story here]. (Bi-partisan)

Swedish politics:

- This government is turning us into the USA. (left-wing)
- I think we'd all be willing to be taxed an extra hundred kr for [pet issue] (left-wing) Sometimes even used by the right if the pet issue happens to be defense.
- Not allowing profits in the welfere sector is anti-feminist. (right-wing)
- There's too much person and not enough ideology in todays politics (bi-partisan)

And the most horrid one that transends countries and continents:

- Our ideology has not worked cause we've never had true [communism/capitalism/liberalism]

"Ask" the rich to pay their "fair share" - when there's no asking anything because higher taxes on the so-called rich will be taken under penalty of law and the so-called rich already pay more than their share of the tax burden.

If they have a better plan, show me.

It’s complicated.

It is everybody’s fault.

We are all in this together.

If you like your doctor, you can keep him.

If you want to keep your health care policy, you can.

My policy will save you $2500 a year.

TEA Party is an extreme right-wing ideology.

Nothing in politics irritates me more than the phrases "the (American) people", "the will of the people", "listen to the people", and their derivations, including "taxpayers". Additionally, any appeal to the "founding fathers" is especially cloying.

Also, I can not stand the term "the working class". Is there supposed to be a "non-working class"?

...huh? My "share" of the tax burden is by definition simply the amount of tax I pay divided by what everyone is paying in total. How can I pay more than what I pay? Are you suggesting some people are paying more tax than what they're legally required to pay? Because if that's the case, I don't see how that's anyone's fault but their own.
