Opinion of Rhodesia, apartheid South Africa, and the CSA

While Rhodesia was a terrible place, I am very tired of the trope that Zimbabwe is somehow better. Modern Zimbabwe is just a less racist, but equally oppressive hellhole. That doesn't detract from the fact that Rhodesia and Apartheid South Africa were repressive, backwards regimes that were among the worst of Cold War era Africa.

Is anybody here saying that? Well, besides the usual suspects who actually like Mugabe?

People who believe that universal suffrage is the ultimate good in this world.
