Ftr, the 2014 Sydney Lindt Cafe gunman was an Iranian convert to Sunni Islam who pledged loyalty to IS.  Of course, like many of these guys, he had some serious mental problems, and probably latched onto whatever ideology proved the best outlet for his paranoia.
