Non-black voters (I assume particularily white voters) want Ben Carson for president. However, black voters do absolutely not. What a black and white story. We need some more colours and some grey to revive this old movie.

Carson definitely has lower name recognition than everyone else on that list, so it's possible he could be functioning as "generic Republican". Hopefully this encourages the GOP base to nominate him.

He's not another Herman Cain though, let's make that clear already. His intelligence is far superior than most of the 2012 GOP candidates.

^ This exactly. You may disagree with everything Carson stands for politically, but the man is brilliant, extremely well-educated, and very intelligent.

While I'm not doubting his expertise in the field of medicine, he's yet to display this any time he opens his mouth on politics.

And winning the presidency isn't about who's the most intelligent.  Herman Cain minus the predatory sex scandals would have made a much better candidate than Carson.

The only policy Cain ever offered was his 9-9-9 tax talking point. Did he have any substantial opinions on any other political question? I think not. Whatever the debate moderator asked him about, he pretty much ignored it and returned to talk about 9-9-9 instead. Not exactly clever. Cain is a nobody and it's ridiculous to claim otherwise.
