Unless we have defined "means", "assistance" and "Libyan people", this bill is just an empty slogan, potentially dangerous.

If there are no reasonable amendments soon, that would spare us from the dangers Badger rightly mentioned, I'll push motion to table.

Also, I'd rather wait to see a detailed project, provided by the SoEA and HW.

<Takes GM's hat off>

Smells and sounds like the Gulf of Toinkin Resolution in its completely open-ended mandate.

Tmthforu may not be LBJ, but still......

I completely agree with you here, this bill is just ridiculous.

Regardless of Tmthforu himself, I don't want a precedent of giving President, no matter who holds the office at the moment, any sort of unchecked power. PERIOD.

Why does the legislative power has somehting to do here ? Isn't war a prerogative of the executive ?

Oh... so it's no longer humanitarian stuff?

Doesn't the amended version have to atleast be somewhat similar to the original bill, though?

This should be tabled.

yeah, I tried to come up with some amendments in last hours, but it isn't working.

MOTION TO TABLE!

(Better wait for something good from Ben and Happy Tongue)

Sure, if they are planning on having something out soon, I'll move to withdraw.

Problem is, that we won't be able to do anything due to a very lenghty amending process (and possibly nasty fight) for a days, so it would be better to wait for SoEA.
