It's weird because I did enjoy going to them during the Obama Administration and I was absolutely STOKED about my first one in 2008 and was so excited...but now I just find them pretty stale and boring. This is probably something that's a lot more exciting the first time or second time you do it. It could also be related to there not really being much interesting going on especially as I don't like Ilhan Omar or Don Samuels, the only notable race at the one I went to today*. It could also be that I went to the state one last election in 2022 and thus achieved that bucket list item, so not much else to do in regards to them.

*(I ended up joining a sort of "default" subcaucus, which was just Biden/all DFL endorsed candidates and was headed by the treasurer of the district who we also elected as our delegate.)

I've wanted to go to one, but as an unaffiliated voter the only way I'd be able to make it to the convention is as some kind of vender which I assume doesn't get to see much of what takes place. But I'd imagine they're fun.

The only one I attended was the 2010 CA Dem convention. It was alright.

I've never been to one. The hotel rates have to be horrific.

It varies state by state but in Minnesota you just have to show up to the precinct caucuses and get elected a delegate, in Minneapolis this is ridiculously easy as there's often more delegate spots than people who show up.

Actually in this case no. A district convention in Minnesota doesn't require any hotels at all because it only covers an area in south Minneapolis where the convention also is so everyone lives by the convention spot (unless they move between the precinct caucus and convention), and the state one that I attended in 2022 in Rochester wasn't too bad although I got a hotel in a small town near Rochester instead of Rochester itself. National ones I hear though absolutely are, like $400/night.

Never been, I briefly worked as a freelance journalist and interviewed people outside the Democratic and Republican conventions in 2012 but I wasn't able to secure credentials to get inside unfortunately.
