I don't have a whole lot of patience for the opebo-esque charlatans who are so enamored of the "authenticity" and "grittiness" of the falling-apart, high-crime New York of the 1970s.  It was a bad time, and especially as someone who cares about the health of our cities, I think that attitude needs to die in a nuclear meltdown.

But, my god, I am not voting for 1980's Miami. I mean, I am not about to vote for 1980s anything anytime soon, but the Miami bit isn't helping either.
