Minnesota Senator Paul Wellstone was considered a possible candidate to oppose Vice President Al Gore for the nomination in 2000 but declined and former Senator Bill Bradley tried to take his place.

In this scenario, Gore and Wellstone are the only two major candidates for the nomination.

Who wins and what is the margin?

Gore still wins it, but Wellstone does better than Bradley did and possibly ends up Gore's VP as a result.

In a Primary -

Still lose but still puts up a fight against a incumbent VP.
