It's not happening, Trump obviously doesn't like her anymore. Especially given the fact she dared to stay in so long and not endorse him.

I'm not even convinced she would do more good than harm on this ticket. The best running mate for Trump would be Burgum. An inoffensive and boring conservative with no DC connections who certainly won't outshine him, but scares no one. That's also why I hope he isn't picked.

I agree. Burgum could do a lot to bring "never Trump again" Republicans on-board. The pretense of reasonableness, the hope that Trump might die. the ludicrious idea that he'll have net positive input into a (hypothetical and illegitimate) Trump administration's conduct.

If he's a decent human being, Burgum will be better than letting himself be used as a rubber-stamp for fascism. But if there's one thing I've learned in the Trump era, it's that 'decent human being' and 'Republican' make for a non-overlapping Venn diagram.

This is pretty clear. Not under consideration.

Trump wants a flunky who does what s/he's told in that role. Burgum or (Tim) Scott would work well, and Rubio might as well now that he's been thoroughly emasculated.

Trump is such a moron for not considering Haley. He won in 2016 because the Pence pick got fence-sitting Evangelicals to hold their nose and vote for him. Now he's bleeding suburban and college-educated support and Haley is the only candidate with any national recognition right now who could do the same thing Pence did.

Of course Trump is too much of an egomanaic and relies too much on sycophants to consider this - he just wants a dumb yes-person who who will stay out of his way when he breaks the law.

Oh, he is considering her for sure, and he never liked her anyway (and it was mutual).  By posting this, he just wants to signal to his MAGA supporters that he will be calling the shots on this one.  Ideally, he would like to bring her in, preferably a little humbled and demeaned, but with enough dignity left to still be able to help him get elected.  Not an easy task but, if he succeeds, Biden's campaign will be in big trouble.  Of course, this is Trump, so his ego may still get in the way, which would be great news for Biden.
