Not yet, even if the Democrats did control the Senate. The Democrats would have to de-gerrymander the State Senate before there could ever be enough votes for it to pass. (I suppose it's not so much a gerrymander as gross malapportionment. Same difference, really.)

Really disgusting corruption on the part of the "Gang of Three". I hope no one gives them credit for being "bipartisan"; they're just trying to get money for themselves out of this.

Sadly. Unsure It's sad that the state has to be gerrymandered to possibly get enough support to possibly start a bill to possibly give rights for gay people to marry.

Especially since that was a big bargaining chip for Democrats.

It's more a question of undoing a bad gerrymander and shaking loose some dead wood. A fairly drawn senate would pass it in New York, and will do so by 2013.

Now if I were the Governor of New York I would end this nonsense by selling the seat to the highest bidder...

Could Blago and Paterson just appoint each other and be done with it?

Add an expression of disgust to that, and I think that just about says it all.
