Chris Koster won a lot of similar endorsements and obviously that did not help him.
But the situation is different now. Koster was running for an open seat in a year before we all knew for sure that Missouri was rock hard GOP. Prior to Nov 2016, Missouri was still seen as a somewhat friendly state to Democrats below the Presidential level.
Also, Koster was almost invisible the last month and Greitens peaked at the right time.
Right now Beshear is running against an unpopular incumbent and hopefully keeps campaigning and working very hard!
