Pornographic content removed. -Alcon
Um, excuse me, that wasn't pornographic.  If people can have the signatures they have, and if people can post pictures of straight couples kissing, why not homosexual couples?  Get a life.

If it was a mere kiss between two men that showed no gentalia in no way is that pornographic. Offensive to some yes, but not pornographic.

Me too.  Knowing Alcon, it was probably just two guys kissing, but then again knowing Richious, it was probably one guy whipping another.

The picture showed several undressed men. One of the pictures partially showed a penis. And yes I reported it if you have a problem with it, PM me.

I have no problem with that now that I know. No nudity should be allowed whether jokey or not as we have a diverse age range on here. I sound like a prude- but you know what i mean.

I never understood why these people associate themselves with the Republican Party.

Do gays not have freedom of association?  That's like saying that you don't understand why straight people would associate with the Democrat party.

Freedom fighters.  Their existence is the real test of whether or not the GOP can be a "big tent" party.

And it was explained in the first post why they associate with the Republican party: "Low taxes, limited government, strong defense, free markets, personal responsibility, and individual liberty."  They're perfectly free to choose the Republican party, and they are smart in doing so.  Choosing a fringe third party over one of the two primary parties would only make them appear further out of the mainstream.

I don't think they will change the religious wing of the GOP by themselves, but they're perfectly welcome in a party that probably needs to have a discussion of where their views are headed.

And J-Mann nailed the topic. Wink I'll just add this: some of you on the left are making the assumption that just because someone is gay/lesbian/bi/etc, that therefore they have to agree with every position of social liberalism, if not economic liberalism. That is one of the most arrogant and condescending positions I've ever come across. God forbid a gay person believe in personal responsibility or be pro-life or have any socially conservative positions at all. IIRC hughento had a great reply when migrendel applied that reasoning to him last year - something about 'don't you categorize me!'. Smiley

Bloody hell. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

I have to agree. I am not exactly socially liberal material in comparison to alot of 'straight' posters. I am strongly anti-immigration and I don't believe in gay marriage, just civil unions. Quite a lot of gay men and lesbians are fairly conservative. For some all that is 'socially liberal' , (including my ex boyfriend who was a rabid conservative) about them is the belief that there is nothing wrong with homosexuality. Sadly both liberals and conservatives can tend to ignore this.

There was a penis on the right extreme of the image, toward the bottom.  Otherwise, it would not have been removed.

Thanks for helping to make my point. Smiley I agree with you, but have hope: judging by opinions of upcoming generations this shouldn't be an issue in a decade or two, or about as long as it takes for them to move up the ranks. Kiki

They really are the very definition of freedom fighters, and I wish they had more sway in the GOP.

I really dislike the name of the organisation though, I must say.

The Republican Party should be and must be inclusive to all people who wish to be a part of it, and everyone should be welcome, and be made to feel weldome, regardless of their sexual orientation, their ethnic or racial background, their religious beliefs, their economic circumstances, or whatever group or category they may be in.

The Log Cabin Republicans are good people and are important to the Republican Party, and should be regarded as such.  The party needs more of them.

Perhaps the 'pink elephants' would do better? (saw it on the simpsons).

I never liked the FF/HP dichotomies, so I voted other, though I would place them closer to FF than HP.

They're Republicans.  As far as I can tell, they are more representative of traditional Republican values than the current big spenders in the whitehouse.  I wish them well in their fight to bring the GOP back to it's senses.

I agree, besides sexuality was far more fluid and always was since the time of the Ancient Greeks when most of the Hellenic world was bisexual.

I seriously hate it when people say "a gay". Do we say "a straight"? "A gay" is no more grammatically correct than "a straight". Roll Eyes

Yes, this ridiculous pigeonholing of everyone into being a gay or a straight, 100%, is symptomatic of our modern world's penchant for social controll.
