Option 1, with a microscopic amount of option 2 in it, like, 1 part per billion or so, not enough to have an actual effect, unless its a placebo effect.

Option 1. Alas my mom is seeing one of these quacks. She visits him every time she's down here in the Twin Cities area. She was informed of him by her sister, whose doing the same.

Option 2.  People have been dying for a long time due to inadequate and damaging care. From bloodletting, leeches, poisonous cure all tonics, to the whacked out crap people peddle today- people can and do die when they choose these quacks over real medicine.

On the other hand,  they did come up with Cherokee hair tampons so Ill give them a pass.
