Yankee expected some follow-through with this legislation, and we already have two of the three regions with corresponding bills. Hooray!

So basically the aim of the federal law, and regional legislation, is to mandate the implementation of Silver Alerts in every state. States and localities will have the most responsibility in implementation and can more effectively build infrastructure relevant to the needs of the community. Federal funding for necessary innovations will be granted on a needs basis, but with existing Amber Alert infrastructure these communications will be easy for the states to establish in short order.

I am entirely in favor of this proposal, and as the money is coming from Nyman, I see no reason not to pass it. My thanks to Senator Scott for his advocacy and leadership on this issue.

I'd like to thank Scott for writing this bill both for Nyman and for our home region. This is an important measure, both for the seniors themselves and for their loved ones who treasure them. Caring for people with dementia is challenging, and anything the regional government can do to add that little extra layer of security is valuable. The federal legislation seems solid, so I'm not sure there's much to add but if anyone has any ideas, I am all ears.

It seems to me that most of details are devolved to the individual states so I don't know there is much to add. I am in favour of passing the bill. Frémont moves slowly, but steadily.

May we move to a final vote on this?

Unless YE has objections or someone else has changed their mind, I guess.
