Kerry, Byrd, Inouye: Still in the Senate.

Wellstone: Still in the Senate. Possibly could have served as VP/President.

Carnahan, Kennedy: Retires in 2012. Seat is probably still held because Carnahan living doesn't butterfly Akin away. McCaskill could run for governor, and Robin Carnahan would most likely succeed her father.

Byrd died in his 90s. Running for another term was completely out of the question for him.

Doesn't matter. Byrd and Inouye were going to stick around in the Senate until they died. Possibly Ted too.
