Military Funding:
Far-Left - Drastically cut military funding, establish a Department of Peace.
Left - Decrease funding for weapons and focus on spending for humanitarian relief.
Center-Left - We should decrease military funding. Focus on other priorities like Homeland Security.
Center - Keep military budget the same, look to be more efficient.
Center-Right - Increase the military budget, but find ways to be more efficient.
Right - We need to significantly increase military funding to meet new threats.
Far-Right - We need to increase the size of our military and mass-produce armaments.
Military Doctrine:
Far-Left - Remove all U.S. troops from foreign soil. No intervention! Our miltary need never be used.
Left - Intervening in other countries is another way of saying 'empire building.'
Center-Left - For humanitarian causes or if we are attacked.
Center - Only if we are attacked should we retaliate. War is okay to stop ethnic cleansing.
Center-Right - We should intervene when our national interests are threatened.
Right - We must never hesitate to defend America! Unilateral attacks fine for national security.
Far-Right - We have the most powerful military in the world! We should exert our power across the globe.
Personal Tax:
Far-Left - Increase income tax for everyone.
Left - Increase income tax for the rich. Reduce for those in lower income bracket.
Center-Left - Keep taxes progressive because it is fair and balanced. Exempt the very poor from taxes.
Center - Leave income tax as it is presently. Keep progressive taxes and remove small hidden taxes like marriage tax.
Center-Right - Reduce income tax for the lower and middle class. Eliminate marriage tax.
Right - Taxes should be flatter and lower. Across-the-board tax cuts or adopt low flat-tax rate.
Far-Right - Abolish income tax. Sales tax gives control back to the people.
Social Security:
Far-Left - No to any private investment, dramatically increase funding.
Left - No to private investment and personal retirement accounts, increase funding.
Center-Left - Allow a small amount of private investment but keep it regulated.
Center - Keep social security as it is.
Center-Right - Let workers privately invest some of their retirement payments.
Right - Gradually scale down federal involvement and allow young people to invest in private accounts. Give people choice!
Far-Right - Let workers privately invest all retirement payments.
Nation-Building:
Far-Left - We should not meddle in other's cultures, no matter our moral feelings about some events.
Left - We should work with the UN and peacekeepers, war is out of date.
Center-Left - We have an obligation to prevent genocide, but we should leave as soon as we stopped it.
Center - We have an obligation to prevent genocide, but we should leave as soon as possible.
Center-Right - We should use our military forces for good in the world, but we should also do so on a case-by-case basis, no UN.
Right - We must bring the light of Democracy to the world by any means required.
Far-Right - The Founding Fathers warned of overseas entaglments, we should listen. The isolationist school is the way to go.
Civil Rights:
Far-Left - All businesses should follow strict quotas when hiring employees. Same-sex marriage is a fundamental human right.
Left - Promote affirmative action to battle racism. Make all federal agencies follow strict quotas. Support same-sex marriage.
Center-Left - Diversity is a compelling reason for affirmative action. Civil unions for same-sex couples.
Center - Get the federal government out of civil rights. Leave affirmative action and same-sex unions to the states.
Center-Right - Affirmative action programs only in certain cases. Reach out to minorities without quotas. Protect traditional marriage.
Right - Gradually end all federal affirmative action programs. Ban same-sex marriage!
Far-Right - Affirmative action is reverse discrimination. Abolish Affirmative Action programs. Ban same-sex marriage.
China:
Far-Left - China is our greatest friend and ally. Full diplomatic relations.
Left - De-link human rights and establish full diplomatic relations with China..
Center-Left - Support Most Favored Nation status and entry into the World Trade Organization.
Center - Monitor China within the World Trade Organization. Defend Taiwan.
Center-Right - Support one China policy, defend Taiwan. Allow entry into the World Trade Organization based on human rights.
Right - Maintain relations with China and Taiwan, defend Taiwan if attacked. Link trade to human rights. Sell arms to Taiwan.
Far-Right - Blockade China and deny entry into The World Trade Organization. Link human rights to relations.
Crime:
Far-Left - Society makes people bad, punishment worsens it. Rehabilitation is effective. No death penalty and prison industry.
Left - Prevention, no death penalty or prison industry. Additional penalties for crimes on gender, race, sexual orientation.
Center-Left - Focus of prevention, rehabilitation. Local not federal action to fight crime. Additional penalties for hate crimes.
Center - We need more police officers and funding, fight crime locally. Death penalty for heinous crimes.
Center-Right - Stiffer prison sentencing, more police officers and more prisons. Three strikes. Death penalty.
Right - No clemency, two strikes, less parole, death penalty and more prisons.
Far-Right - No clemency! Hire more police and implement a prompt death penalty.

Abortion:
Far-Left - Full reproductive rights for women! Only appoint pro-choice judges to Supreme Court and extend abortion rights!
Left - Keep abortion as it is presently. Safe, legal, and rare. Keep partial-birth abortion legal.
Center-Left - Protect responsible choice. Ban partial-birth abortions except in the case of life of the mother.
Center - Abortion is not an issue for government intrustion. Oppose government control over abortion. Leave it to the states.
Center-Right - Some restrictions on abortion. Allow abortions in cases of rape, incest, or life of the mother. Ban partial birth abortions.
Right - Only allow abortion in cases where the mother's life is at risk. Ban partial-birth abortion.
Far-Right - Abortion is murder! Total ban on abortions.
Balanced Budget:
Far-Left - A deficit and debt is fine.  Focus on social programs and how the government can better people's lives.
Left - Increase government spending on social programs, a deficit is acceptable.
Center-Left - Focus on real priorities. More funds for military and social programs.
Center - Balance lowering the deficit with other priorities. No long-term deficits.
Center-Right - We need to curb spending in order to balance the budget. Respect taxpayers' dollars.
Right - A large decrease in federal spending. A Balanced Budget Amendment to ensure responsible fiscal management.
Far-Right - We need to eliminate all debt as quickly as possible. Outlaw deficit spending with a Balanced Budget Amendment.
Business Tax:

Center-Left - Support our public school system. Private school vouchers drain resources from public schools. Increase funding.
Center - Support public school system but allow room for vouchers.
Center-Right - School vouchers for lower-income students. Privatize failing schools. Charter schools provide competition.
Right - Support school vouchers and charter schools. Reduce federal government's role in education.
Far-Right - School vouchers for anyone. Get the federal government out of education completely!
Environment:
Far-Left - The environment should be our first national priority. Expand National Park System. Large government programs.
Left - The environment and gobal warming is a major concern. Ratify Kyoto. Increase environmental regulations and pollution cleanup.
Center-Left - We need to leave a healthy environment for our children. Work to reduce emissions and harmful toxins. Modified Kyoto.
Center - Balance environmental policies with sound economic policies. Strengthen Clean Air, Waters Act, reduce greenhouse gases.
Center-Right - The environment is important. Find market based solutions to environmental problems. Protect property rights.
Right - Economic policies and priorities take precedence over environmental concerns. Rely more on economy and communities.
Far-Right - The environment is fine.  We don't need to worry about it.
Free Trade:
Far-Left - Return to our protectionist past. Reduce dependence on trade. Protect our national sovereignty.
Left - We need to erect large tariff barriers to protect all our industries and our labor market. Pull out of free trade agreements.
Center-Left - Some industries need to be protected. Focus on Fair Trade. Review current free trade agreements.
Center - Open markets should be approached with caution.
Center-Right - Most markets should be open. Keep current free trade agreements and some expansion in the future.
Right - All markets should be open! Expand free trade to cover most of the Western Hemisphere.
Far-Right - We should strive to achieve global free trade with no restrictions.
Gun Control:
Far-Left - Ban most guns! Tough restrictions on ownership.
Left - We need gun control! Ban certain guns. Require registration/background checks. Gun control protects children.
Center-Left - The right to bear arms, but only responsibly! Ban assault rifles, require registration/background checks.
Center - Gun control is a state issue. Responsible gun ownership is fine.
Center-Right - We should be wary of gun control. The Second Amendment protects the right to bear arms.
Right - Gun ownership is constitutionally protected. Protect sportsmen's rights and the Second Amendment.
Far-Right - The Second Amendment is not negotiable! No restrictions on firearms!
Health Care:
Far-Left - We need a completely public health care system! Publically funded, universal health care insurance. Health care is a right!
Left - Completely public health care system and include perscription drugs under medicare. Require health insurance for every child.
Center-Left - Universal health care whether public or private. Require health insurance for every child.
Center - Public health care benefits for the poor and elderly, the rest private.
Center-Right - More tax-deductable health costs. Very limited public health services. Give health coverage to uninsured children.
Right - Very limited role for government in health care. Tax credits for personal Health Savings Accounts.
Far-Right - The health care system should be completely private, it is not a responsibility of the federal government.
Immigration:
Far-Left - Completely open borders. Try to obtain global citizenship.
Left - Immigration is great! The more immigrants the better. Just require a criminal record check. Full blanket-amnesty.
Center-Left - Legal immigration is great. Support guest-worker program for illegals and amnesty.
Center - Enforce current laws and tighter border security but allow room for a guest-worker program.
Center-Right - Illegal immigration is a serious problem. Tighter border security. Reform immigration laws.
Right - Tighten border security with stricter immigration enforcement provisions. Deport illegal immigrants.
Far-Right - Stop all immigration completely.  Deport illegal aliens and build massive security fence on Mexican and Canadian borders.
