This election, in red-leaning Missouri seems like a tossup. On the Democratic side, Attorney General Chris Koster, a Southern moderate Democrat is the overwhelming favorite to be the nominee; while on the Republican side, it is like the GOP presidential field; very testy, and fierce. Which party will win the Show-Me-State Governorship in 2016 to replace outgoing Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon?

Didn't a candidate already kill himself?  Other weird stuff going on around it.

It's too early to say for sure, but if I had to guess now, I'd say it will go Republican.

Dems are favored in VT & WVa and GOP are favored in MO & NC. NH can go Dems once they nominate someone.

Colin Van Ostern almost certainly will be the Dem nominee in NH.

President Obama is very unpopular in Missouri, so the GOP has a shot, but given that most of their candidates don't seem very strong, and Koster is a moderate who has already won statewide office.  He seems like a much stronger candidate, and I suspect he will win.  I voted Democrat in this poll.

Then again, the same could've been said of Jack Conway.

I'd give the GOP a slight edge, since MO is a conservative-leaning state, but it could easily go either way with a candidate like Koster.  The state handily elected its sitting Democratic AG as Governor in 2008, even while Obama narrowly lost it.

I prefer the Democrat, but probably Kander.

I think Koster has a decent shot against any Republican except Greitens. Beating a former NAVY Seal in a conservative leaning state will be very difficult especially one that isn't far right.

If Obama keep polling low in MO, Dems chances arent that great. I think Dems chances are greater in WVa, Jupiter is doing extreamly well, like John Bel did in La, win in a state where they suppose to lose.

Colin Van Ostern and Dubie will have to come through, too.

Greitens is scary and just as far-right as most of the crazies running for the governor's office. I hope he doesn't win the primary.

I'd say it's even lean GOP. The Republican nominee could carry Greitens or even Brunner with him. Not sure about Hanaway or Kinder.
