Dakota Pipeline protesters leave behind 250 truck loads of garbage at site

Even with the increased risk of leakage as pipelines age, they are still far safer than having them transported via tanker trucks or carried via freight trains.  The best thing environmentalists can do (when their efforts to prevent pipeline construction fails) is advocate strict, uniform regulations and safety protocols for pipelines to minimize the potential for catastrophic accidents like we already have for airplanes.
