It just exhausts me that younger office-holders (especially those of color) have such difficulty moving up in my party, even when they may be a better choice. Republicans seem to be better at moving younger people up the ranks (maybe because they have less of a problem with challenging one another) and that should give Democrats pause about the future. We're still dominated by old white folks in the Democratic party despite that not being what most of our base is and even though those old white folks maybe aren't the best choices for us anymore. It's really frustrating sometimes.

GOP has hard time governing because of the turnover and lack of experienced politicians running committees and the like. experience/age are positives as well

That is a very bad sign. Candidates who lose their own state or district are definitely not the best candidates. What are the predictions here as to how the Feinstein vs. De Leon race will look like in November? Will California Republicans who don't leave their Senate spot on the ballot blank back Feinstein, because she is the entrenched incumbent and more to the center? And are there any counties that De Leon might have a chance of winning?

I voted for her in the primary and will do so again in Nov; she's the more moderate of the two

Will his eventual loss hurt him in the future? Being humiliated this year may stick
